iFilm TV to air ‘On the Way to Zayandeh Rood’

iFilm English TV’s ‘On the Way to Zayandeh Rood’ has been scheduled to start broadcasting on November 29, 2021.

Directed by Hassan Fathi and produced by Esmaeel Afifeh, the series follows the story of Mehran, a young football player on the way to becoming a star.

He has just been announced as one of the players on the national team and has gone to the city of Isfahan to negotiate with a new club. When his name is removed from the list of Iran’s national football team, he gets furious.

While driving frantically, he crashes his car and argues with the other driver. He winds up striking the young man in the head and killing him. Mehran goes to jail with his life on the line.

His mother is desperately running around doing everything she can think of to get the consent of the victim’s family to have her son released. But the victim’s father is a bitter old man who seems to have other plans for Mehran and his mother.

The cast list of the series includes Ashkan Khatibi, Behnoush Tabatabaee, Mehdi Soltani-Sarvestani, Houman Barqnavard, Mehraneh Mahin-Torabi, Masoud Rayegan, Afsaneh Pakrou, Hossein Mahjoub, Pardis Afkari, Mehdi Baqer-Beigi, and a number of Iranian football players.

‘On the Way to Zayandeh Rood’, created in 2010, is scheduled to replace ‘The Seamen’, to be on iFilm’s screen every day at 18:00 GMT.

iFilm English TV will also repeat each episode of ‘On the Way to Zayandeh Rood’ the next day at 00:00, 09:00 and 15:00 (all GMT times). The series is comprised of 19 episodes.
